Refresh is Refreshing Feb 06, 2010 I did my Lasix Eye Surgery almost 4 years ago. It was the best money I ever spent on myself. I had worn glasses since 4th grade and did this at about age 56 or 57. Following the surgery, I needed sterile eye drops about every hour at work for awhile. This product worked wonderfully. Why?
It comes in small individual plastic vial thingies, with a couple of drops in each. Although the box says "single use containers," you can simply twist/pop of the vial cap, put a drop or two in each eye, pop the cap back on, and finish the vial later. That way, you don't waste it. (At least I have been doing this forever, with no problems. You are supposed to use it only once to avoid contamination. Unless your eyes are super sensitive, you can probably use the vial more than once. BTW, you are not supposed to touch your eye with the vial. You hold it above the eyeball, opur eye, and drop a drop in.)
The size of the vial opening seems perfect for dropping one or two drops into your eye. The product does not burn or irritate me, even with eye makeup on.
A box of 100 vials seems to last forever now (well, months anyway.) It is easy to put a bunch in a coin purse and pack them in your purse or makeup case or overnight bag and take them with you wherever you go.
If you are thinking of Lasix surgery, know that my need to use these all day long slowly decreased over the years. I still use them, but usually in the morning when I wake up and in bed at night. I usually have some in my work desk and in my car. If my eyes get tired, I reach for these to refresh them. They are great if your eyes get tired, or dried out from the winter heating system, or if you just cried at a sad movie, or if you have been walking around in the wind, or driving in the sun for awhile. You don't have to have Lasix Eye Surgery to benefit from eye drops.
Wonderfully Refreshing Feb 03, 2010 these terrific little vials are a great way to refresh your poor eyes when you are driving late at night or just can't take out your contact lenses just yet.
I put a few of these vials in every purse I own and also in my travel cases so that when my eyes dry out I have one ready to use.
The single use vial is really a great way to take eye drops with you without taking a big old bottle along.
Really a great price and the box of 100 will last a long time.

~*~*~WHY TO CHOOSE THESE VS OTHER EYE DROPS~Also tips for dry eyes~*~*~ Jan 25, 2010 I am 30 years old and have suffered from Dry eyes for more than 10 years, at one point my eyes were Severely Dry...to the point that when I woke up in the morning my eyes had zero moisture, literally, my eye lids would stick to my eye, gross I know but you get the point. As a result I have used MANY, many different brands of eye drops over the years.
If your eyes are severely dry then you should use drops that are preservative free because they can sting and become more irritated from preservatives, that is what always happened with me. If your eyes are irritated that can cause tears and your tears can dry out your eyes even more(I know that sounds wrong but it is true)Also, if you read most eye drops or ask your eye Dr, you are only supposed to use certain eye drops a certain number of times per day. Most of the eye drops I had been using I could use and less than 30 minutes later my eyes would be dry/irritated again. The Refresh Plus my eye Dr said that I could use them as many times a day as I wanted to and that right after Lasik they would help my eyes heal.
*******TIPS FOR HELPING SEVERE DRY EYES*******
*Flaxseed Oil-take 1000mg 3x a day
-months ago I decided I wanted to get Lasik but feared my eyes were too dry. After much research and looking at the best Lasik Dr's(in my area) website for dry eyes I learned to take flaxseed oil for dry eyes. I started taking it and within a week I noticed my eyes were more moist and I took it for a while before my Lasik consultation. I passed everything, my eyes were somewhat dry but I could get Lasik. After my Lasik consulation there was a time I quit taking the Flaxseed and my eyes began to get dry again so now I make sure to take them everyday.
*Eye Plugs-about 2 years ago my eye Dr put plugs in my tear ducts to keep moisture in(my tears were only staying on my eye at that time 1-2 seconds) the first plugs he put in were literally like a plug and I kept accidently scratching them out, I think I went through at least 5 plugs before my eye Dr put in a permanent silicone plug, this actually goes down inside of your tearduct & expands so you can NOT feel it and it can NOT come out. I definately recommend the silicone permanent plugs, if you have dry eyes call your eye Dr and ask about them.
*Night Eye Ointment-I used Bausch & Lomb Moisture Eyes PM, it is a little tube and was expensive but it lasts a long time and really did help with my severe dry eyes, I was no longer waking up with my eyes lids stuck to my eye. I actually used less then it says and it worked just fine.
*Humidifier-about a year ago my husband was sick and we put a humidifier in our room for several days, my eyes did seem to be less dry when I woke up. My Lasik Dr also told me to use one if I had any problems with dry eyes.
I had my Lasik on Jan 7, 2010. My Lasik Dr said for 6 months to use eye drops at least 4x a day but absolutely no bottled tears, you can only use Refresh Plus or Thera-Tears. I've been using Refresh Plus and they keep my eyes moist for a long period of time. In the past I was using eye drops several times an hour but with the Refresh Plus I am normally only using them 4x a day, sometimes more(like before and after I take a shower since that makes my eyes irritated)
So it is the winter which makes eyes more dry and I have had Lasik and my eyes are more dry than most people but thanks to my silicone plugs, daily flaxseed oil and Refresh Plus my eyes look and feel great.
So you see there ARE solutions to help dry eyes, Good Luck : )
Refresh Plus drops Dec 26, 2009 Very pleased with both the product (known previously to me because of Lasik surgery) and the quick service.
Great instant relief but doesn't last too long Dec 18, 2009 I started using these drops when I got LASIK surgery two months ago, and overall, I'm very happy with them. They are the best drops I have for instant, hassle-free moisturizing relief. The drops are very watery, so they don't last long in my eyes, but they absorb very quickly and don't leave any gummy residue, crustiness, or stickiness in my eyes or eyelashes. They are also preservative free, which makes them better for long-term or frequent use, compared to the big bottles (even though these are more expensive). I like the value-pack: after LASIK, I went through about 1-2 boxes a week for the first month, and now still use the drops at least 2-3 times a day to help my eyes heal.
As an added bonus, the vials can be re-capped and used multiple times (even though the box recommends single uses). I can usually squeeze 2-4 uses out of a single vial, using them on both eyes each time. Make sure to keep your hands clean if reusing the vials, and throw them away after a few hours to prevent any contamination.
